UPDATE on ROSE 2022!

We are excited to announce that we are planning a 2022 Rose show, with the show beginning on June 22th and extending toward the weekend.

If our needed conditions are met, we plan on a full International Rose show at the Davis Conference Center, just as before. Otherwise we plan on a smaller less-expensive “mini" show at a location closer to Bountiful Baby.

This means we are definitely planning on having a live 2022 show, beginning on June 22, 2022. The exact details will not be known until early January 2022.

Full International ROSE Show:

If conditions allow, this is our preferred choice. This would be a 4 day show at the Davis Conference Center, in Layton, Utah on June 22nd to June 25th. We plan on this larger show under the following two conditions:

1. Covid travel restrictions must be lifted on or before January 1, 2022 (1/1/22) in and between the following countries: United States, Canada, Australia, UK, Spain, France, and Germany. If travel restrictions have not been lifted, we cannot have an “international” show because international travelers will not be able to come. January 1, 2022 is slightly less than six months before the planned show, and people need that time to plan their trip.

2. No unforeseen "Acts of God" happen that create untenable circumstances, like a more destructive earthquake, or riots and/or civil unrest in the area, or other unforeseen significant issues.

We have "soft reserved" the space with Davis Conference Center (DCC) for those dates, but we won’t sign a contract with them unless the stated two conditions have been met as of January 1, 2022. In the meantime, if the DCC books those dates out from under us because we did not sign the contract, or if the stated two conditions have not been met as of January 1, 2022, then the show won’t happen at the DCC at all for 2022. We will instead move forward with our “mini” show plans detailed below.

If the conditions cannot be met for a full Rose show, rather than completely cancel (we miss you all!) we plan on having a smaller 3 day show (one day shorter than the full Rose show would be) at a location about 4 miles from Bountiful Baby, on June 22th to June 24th. This show is planned to still offer vendor tables (at a reduced cost), a few classes, a baby shower and a Royal Ball, as well as the ROSE contests and awards.

There are several hotels about a mile away from the location we are thinking of for our “mini” show. The area we are thinking of is also 22 miles closer to the airport than the Davis Conference Center is. There is also a nearby Trax train (an above-ground subway line) that can be used to get to/from this area and the airport, as well as travel further into Salt Lake City if you wish to.

This is a low cost option for us, therefore we will be there without cancelation unless Covid or other restrictions simply do not allow us to gather. This option will also be lower cost for our vendors and lower cost for the night events. But it will be a smaller show, with the hope of resuming the Full International Rose Show once conditions permit.

It appears that none of the prerequisite conditions for a full show will be met.  Covid travel restrictions have INCREASED since the original post.  Furthermore, because we did not sign the contract in September, the Davis Conference Center did not keep our "soft reserve" dates, and gave them to someone else.

But the show will go on.  We will have the "Friends & Family" mini show, on the advertised dates (of June 22 to June 24).   We will be able to accommodate approximately 120 vendor tables at the mini-show.
